The Factory Reset Protection (FRP) is a new feature in some of the device with Android OS 5.0.1 or higher. Factory reset in that case is only possible with access to your Google Account and screen lock information. In this tutorial we explain you step by step how to bypass this protection.

Step by step instructions:

  1. At the very beginning from the Welcome panel choose appropriate language.
  2. Afterwards connect your device to one of the available wifi networks.
  3. Skip a couple of steps in order to get the Verifying your account view.
  4. From the Verifying your account panel active the keyboard to input the email.
  5. In the next step press and hold SwiftKey (the icon from the left-down corner of keyboard).
  6. As soon as SwiftKeyMenu appears on the screen choose the Settings.
  7. From the list in front of you tap Languages.
  8. Then hold down the Right Led button of your phone to minimize the screen.
  9. Tap on Google Searcher and select No Thanks to sign in Google Account.
  10. Afterwards type in the word Settings in searcher and choose it.
  11. If Swift Key configurations pops up choose Got It and Not Now.
  12. In the next step tap Backup & Reset and select Factory data reset.
  13. Then choose Reset phone, and confirm the whole operation tapping Reset phone again.
  14. Good job! Wait to accomplish the process! This operation removes your Factory Restet Protection.

Prepare your device:

  • Enable Developer Options: go to Settings -> About device. Tap 7 times on Build number to enable Developer options.
  • Enable OEM unlock and USB debugging options ( Settings -> Developer options )

Install TWRP Recovery and SuperSU ( Rooting )

  1. Open ODIN software
  2. In Option make sure to ticked F.Reset Time only and disable Auto-Reboot.
  3. In Files Download ticked AP and pointing to the location of TWRP .tar file
  4. Turn off your Samsung Galaxy and open Download Mode or ODIN Mode: To enter Download Mode Press and hold Volume Down key + Home Key, while pressing these keys Press and hold Power key, Release all key when Download / Odin mode appears.
  5. Connect your Samsung Galaxy to PC using USB Cable and Press Volume Up key.
  6. Odin software will auto detect port of your device, after detected device, klik Start, wait for a moment.
  7. Enter TWRP Recovery mode: Press and hold Volume Down + Home key while pressing these keys press and hold Power key to get out of Download mode and immediately press Volume Up key when the screen blanks while keep pressing Home key and Power key.
  8. Swipe to Allow Modifications. Select ‘install zip’. Click on Storage to change from Internal Storage to Micro SDcard. Select SuperSU which you downloaded. Swipe to Confirm Flash. Flashing process will start. Once Completed. Wipe Cache/dalvik and then choose reboot device.

It happened when you forget to enable OEM unlock and USB debugging option ( Settings -> Developer options ). Enable these options and Reflash it again.

Once your device rooted, Don’t Disable Developer options and Don’t Disable OEM unlock

What the risk if you disable these? When your device booting or restarting you can not enter the android and blocked with message “Custom Binary blocked by FRP lock”.

  3. If your target device has a custom firmware flash counter, Rooting will trigger it. If you’re lucky, Triangle Away has support for your device and can be used to reset the counter.
  4. If you have a KNOX-enabled device, Rooting will trip the KNOX WARRANTY VOID status !
  5. If your device storage is encrypted, Rooting will wipe your data !
  6. If you have locked bootloaders, flashing one of these will probably brick your device – with the exception of Nexus devices, which will usually automatically “OEM unlock” and wipe your data !
  7. Make sure to backup your important data before root it.
